Model 2000 Two Channel Mainframe logo

The Model 2000 Reference Pulse Generator Mainframe provides the conditioned trigger pulses and power necessary to drive one or two of our Reference Pulse Generator Pulse Heads and to trigger the oscilloscopes under test. Trigger pulses may be from the internal oscillator or from a user supplied external source. Both are conditioned by the mainframe to safely drive the Reference Pulse Generator Pulse Heads and oscilloscope.

The standard mainframe includes an internal 100 MHz trigger source but other single frequency trigger sources are available upon request in the range of 80 MHz to 6 GHz (see Option 2). A GPS Disciplined 100 MHz internal oscillator is also available (Option 5) which provides metrological traceability to the "second" using data from NIST or other national metrology institute.

The mainframe also accepts an external trigger from either a pulse or sine-wave source. The internal and external trigger sources are selected using a toggle switch on the front panel (for computer control of switch through USB, see Option 6).

The Reference Pulse Generator Pulse Head is attached to the mainframe by a 0.9 m (3 foot) long cable pair (included with the Pulse Head) that allows the pulse head to be connected directly to oscilloscope input without any intervening cables that can slow the pulse transition.
